Recently my husband and I announced that we are expecting our second child! We are over the moon with excitement and can’t wait to celebrate our little one. My husband and I love a good party, and being pregnant has got me thinking about all the fun milestones that come before having a baby. Nowadays there are fun ways to announce pregnancy, gender reveals, baby showers, maternity photo shoots, and there’s even birth photography. One thing that so many people cringe over? Baby shower games.
I don’t know about you, but I love a good baby shower game. I’m a competitive person and I aim to win at those silly games. Now, I’m not going to be planning my own baby shower or anything, but I thought I’d tell you about 5 baby shower games that are actually fun! Your guests will enjoy themselves, you’ll have a blast, and you’ll have some hilarious laughs.
What’s That Food?
Cover the labels of each baby food jar and number them before guests arrive. Hand each guest a piece of paper, a pen, and a spoon. Pass around each baby food jar and have them pour a little bit of the baby food onto their spoon. Your guests then need to write down their guess for each jar. The person with the most guesses correct wins a prize!
Bottle to Bottle
Fill one baby bottle (long skinny bottles work best) with sprinkles then put a piece of double-sided tape or paper with a medium size hole in it over the opening of the bottle without a bottle nipple. Take another bottle and put it upside down (so the two openings are touching) on the other bottle and tape together. Players must transfer sprinkles from one bottle to the other bottle to win.
Get the Binky
Players must use a chopstick held in their mouth (without hands) to pick up binkies from a table. First player that picks up the most in the allotted time wins. Make sure to use binkies with a loop so the chopstick fits through the handle.
Don’t Drop the Diapers
This game is played in pairs of two. Give one player an empty diaper box and give the other player the diapers. One player has to toss diapers across the room to the other player who has to catch them in the box. The team that catches the most diapers or team that catches the most in the time wins.
Draw the Baby
Hand everyone a notecard and a marker. Everyone has to hold the card to their heads and blindly draw what they think the baby will look like on one side, and put their name on the back of the card. 30 seconds to 1 minute usually does the trick! The mom to be chooses the best and worst drawings as winners.
I’m secretly hoping whoever throws my baby shower uses some of these 5 baby shower games that are actually FUN! Let me know in the comments!
We love this game…each person is given a peace of bubble gum. They have to then form the gum into a little baby (no chewing the gum though)! The baby that the expectant mom chooses as the cutest is the winner!
