A Food Lover’s Guide To Waco, Texas

When coming to Waco, the places people think of first for food often include fast food chains or whatever popped up first thing on a TripAdvisor or Yelp search. In this Food Lover’s Guide to Waco, we are going everywhere else and eating LOCAL!

As local small business owners ourselves, my husband Devin and I get asked all the time where our favorite restaurants in Waco are. Support local businesses is all the rage right now and also helps us to re-invest in our local community. We love supporting local business owners and highly recommend the following restaurants.

Cajun Craft

601 S 11th St, Waco, TX 76706

Known for their crispy fried chicken, a lesser known fact about Cajun Craft is that they also have Vietnamese menu items including pho noodles! We have to say they have the most authentic pho in town! Other items to try include the fried spring rolls and rice noodle bowls.

La Familia

1111 La Salle Ave, Waco, TX 76706

This cash-only restaurant offers authentic Mexican food. We love the menudo there. There’s only a few seats in the restaurant so come early!

Taqueria El Crucero

2505 N Robinson Dr, Waco, TX 76706

Breakfast for champions! If you’ve never been to this local Mexican breakfast shop, go! Their fresh salsa and breakfast burritos are absolutely delicious. Portions are large! Bring cash to avoid the credit card processing fee.

Harvest on 25th

112 N 25th St, Waco, TX 76710

If you’re looking for a breakfast shop or healthy alternative for lunch in Waco, there’s no better place to go than Harvest on 25th! This is our go-to for all dairy-free, gluten-free options in Waco when it comes to eating out. Their hearty breakfasts always leave us satisfied and we love that they serve all meals with fresh BlueJug water. Try their latest H25 Omelette! The sauce is to die for. Follow their social media for Farm to Table dinners and events as well.

Dubl-R Burgers

1810 Herring Ave, Waco, TX 76708

This is one amongst many local favorites. Come for good, old-fashioned burgers on toasted buns and fresh onion rings! Check out their Texas Toothpicks side, which also includes fried jalapenos. Dubl-R serves up their food with counter-top service and the small-hometown feel.
