Happy July! How are we half way through summer?!

Check out some weekend events happening in Waco this month. Follow the links for more information on some awesome organizations and other opportunities to stay busy during the week!

Thursday, July 6

Magnolia, First Friday, and the Hippodrome are teaming up to put on another free family movie night at the Silos! It’s Christmas in July, so wear your Christmas pajamas and come watch Elf!  Enjoy the movie, food trucks, and after hours shopping until 8:30 PM. Don’t forget a blanket to sit on, but please note that lawn chairs, alcohol and smoking will not be permitted on the grounds of the Silos. Movie begins at sunset.

Friday, July 7

First Friday Downtown Waco @5pm-9pm||Join your favorite businesses downtown with special extended hours, offers and more! Look for blue First Friday balloons outside of participating businesses. For more information, visit First Friday Waco on Facebook

Princess Meet and Greet-Mission Waco’s Creative Arts Program Fundraiser @10a-1p Jubilee Theatre, 1319 N. 15h Street||Donations encouraged. Come take pictures with two Disney characters! Includes a photo opportunity. 

Kids Comic Squad at West Waco Library @11a-12:30p West Waco Library, 5301 Bosque Blvd|| Come and discuss what makes comics great and what you should read next! Register for more info!

Thursday, July 13

Disney’s Winnie the Pooh Kids @7p at Waco Civic Theatre, 1517 Lake Air Drive||Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students, seniors and military and can be purchased online or by calling the box office (254 776 1591). Summer Reading Club Presents: Gusto the Great! Magicians @10:30-11:30a in the South Waco Library Meeting Room, 2737 S. 18 Street||Gusto the Great puts on a fantastic magic show for the whole family!

Human Trafficking: Protecting Our Families presented by MCH Family Outreach & Unbound @1-2:30p Methodist Children’s Home-Mulkey Building, 1111 Herring Avenue||Join us in learning about human trafficking, resources and how to protect our children. Block Party at the Library @1:30a at Central Library, 1717 Austin Avenue||Preschoolers and toddlers are invited to a monthly Block Party! Build, play and create using our big blocks and other manipulatives. Strengthen social skills and motor skills while having fun!

Waco Moms Blog Mom’s Night Out! @ 7-9p at 300 S. 6th Street|| We are extremely excited to announce our very first Mom’s Night Out, a Block Party on Thursday July, 27th! Waco mamas can expect swag, giveaways, food, drinks, music, and more!

Summer Reading Club Presents: Matt Sandbank’s Shadow Factor @10:30-11:30a in the South Waco Library Meeting Room, 2737 S. 18 Street||In the Wild Goose Chase shadow puppet show, visit a land where anything is possible! Use rhythm, rhyme and imagination to find out where this wild goose chase will end.
