Meet Jennifer Cotton
Hello everyone, I am so excited to be a part of the Waco Moms Blog. I have always loved writing and now I get to write about what I love most, being a mother.
I live on the outskirts of Lorena on my three acre farm with my 2 kids, 1 husband, 2 mini goats, 5 chickens, and a poodle. I have lived in Lorena most of my life. I graduated from Lorena in 2000 and I love that I am getting to raise my children where I grew up.
I became a teen mom at the age of 15. So I have been a mother all of my adult life. And I’m still learning. When my daughter, Ciara, was born there was a medical mistake and she suffered from seizures after birth which led her to having Cerebral Palsy. She is the light of my life and teaches me everyday to smile through the storm, because no matter what she is going through she has a smile on her face. She is 17 now and I cannot imagine my life without her.
My son Leland is 11 and is my “mama’s boy”. I love that he loves hanging out with me. He is constantly making me laugh.
My husband John and I have been together for 17 years. He met a single mom with an almost one year old baby with special needs and took a chance on love. I am so glad that he did, this life can get stressful and I am happy to have him along for the ride.
I am a stay at home mom but I guess you could say I technically work for Ciara. Scheduling her appointments, going to appointments and making sure my girl has everything she needs keeps me pretty busy. When I’m not busy with mom stuff I enjoy planning parties and baking. I also try crafting but I am not patient enough. What I love the most is sitting outside with the family enjoying the country life. Sounds cheesy but the best part of my day is the 5 or so minutes between homework and dinner when we all go outside to either feed the animals or just enjoy the setting sun.
I am super excited about this new chapter in my life being a part of the Moms Blog team. I look forward to meeting new people and sharing about being a mom in Waco.
Love you. You are going to rock it!
