Meet Johnna King

Meet Johnna King

Hey there Waco Moms…

It’s great to be here and I always enjoy meeting new people — whether virtually or in everyday life. We moved to Waco in January 2017. We always had ideas about ending up in Texas, but never knew what God’s plan for our family might look like.
My husband and I met in college at the Naval Academy. I decided to transfer out half-way through and pursue my teaching degree. The Mr. proposed my junior year of school, we got married 9 days after he commissioned in the Marine Corps and by my graduation day I was preggo with our first baby.  After 2 cross country moves, 6 house moves, 2 deployments and 8 years of marriage, we feel grateful to settle down a little. We appreciate a ‘slower’ pace of life, focusing on our family and loved ones.
There are currently 5 kiddos in our #teamking with one on the way. My oldest is 6, then 4, 3, 2, and 10 months. 4 boys and one Daddy’s girl. Just like God’s plan to bring us to Texas, we didn’t plan our children’s ages and it’s been nothing but goodness. We are honored to have so many arrows in our quiver and enjoy the investment of this thing called parenting.
I homeschool the kids and try to squeeze in a long list of hobbies. Motherhood is my passion and there is always a half-read book on my nightstand. I enjoy running & lifting, photography, interior design, writing and stories of redemption. Hubby and I blog together at and spend our date nights eating out because food is our love language. He loves the country and I am a city girl at heart so I’m embracing this new life here and learning a lot along the way.
I look forward to sharing more of our story and hearing from you as well!

  1. What a beautiful family you have! How did a NA grad get to Waco? I have two NA grad ‘10 and ‘06. I wish I could have one of them living in Waco too!!😄

    • Thank you Mrs. Sauer! I was class of ’10 and my husband was ’09 — that is awesome you have two in your family! He took a job at Baylor and we moved here after his last tour at the Naval Academy. We love it here!
