Hello Waco moms! I’m Stephanie Wolfe and I’m a blogger, essential oil educator, wife to Mathew, and a mom to our medically fragile toddler, Addie. I’m a Corpus Christi native who moved to Waco 8 years ago.
I met my husband online in 2008 and I moved to Waco to better pursue our relationship in 2009. We got engaged in 2010 and married December 3, 2011. Shortly after Mathew and I were married I pursued a career in teaching. Halfway into the school year we found out that I was pregnant with our daughter, Addie. We were so overjoyed! Unfortunately, at our 18 week anatomy scan, we found out that sweet Addie had some complications. We found ourselves in a whirlwind of uncertainties during my high-risk pregnancy.
Addison was born at 35.5 weeks with a Sacrococcygeal teratoma (SCT) and chromosomal abnormalities. Although we knew she would be born with the SCT and it would require surgery, we had no idea what we were up against. Shortly after Addie’s birth, I found myself quitting my teaching job. I became a stay-at-home mom so I could be by her side day in and day out at the hospital. Her hospitalization lasted 10 months.
I wanted to continue to contribute to our family during Addie’s hospitalization, so I blogged as much as possible at my blog, The Vintage Modern Wife, to help make ends meet, and became a Young Living Essential Oil Educator. Writing has always been a passion of mine, and I am often found on Instagram and Facebook so I can connect with others!
Now, Addie is 3 years old and our days consist of multiple therapies, going to fun events around town, participating in No Limitations Athletics, and more! We are loving this little life we’ve built in Waco and are so glad we call it home. I am so thankful for online platforms that help me connect with other women. The stay-at-home mom life (and special needs mom life) can be lonely! I love making new friends! I’m excited to be a part of the wonderful community of the Waco Moms Blog.
