Mom Uniform: Styles For the Busy Mom

0

Everything in this new mom world that I am living in is still a mystery. Along with the one million other new experiences, what to wear in a pinch has been a struggle. If you are like me, before children, you had plenty of time to pick out what to wear, do your hair, and even shower (ha!). But now, I have entered a new season of life where everything I do has to be in a hurry. Including picking out comfy, postpartum, kid friendly clothes and maybe running a brush through my hair.

I decided to take a quick poll from my mommy friends about what their go-to outfits were. The responses I received ranged from cute sun dresses to “anything that fits over my boobs and butt.” That one made me laugh for days.

Below are the most common answers:

  1. Leggings/Workout Gear:

Who doesn’t like to be comfortable when running around after babies? Feeling fat? No problem! Get spit up on 33 times today? No problem! It only adds to the overall look of easy, In a rush, athletic mama.

  1. Loose Top, Skinny Jeans, Flats:

This one was hard for me. I loved this type of outfit before I had a family. Now however, when I go into my closet to find a “loosely” fitted shirt, I struggle. What I realized is, it is worth splurging on a new handful number of items in order to feel more confident. (Even it is not your goal size).

  1. Birkenstocks (with everything):

I actually do not have a pair yet, but I hear they are worth every penny.

  1. Basic White Shirt and Jeans:

This one is my favorite. I have and always will be a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal.

One thing that has really helped me is to plan a few outfits ahead of time that I am really comfortable with…One for each type of occasion. That takes all the guess work and stress out of unexpected plans. I feel that if you are content in how you look for the day, everything goes better. This does not mean I have to time to make it happen always, but it is something to shoot for!
