I love thrifting and finding vintage goods, unique art, and furniture around town. Not only is this more sustainable for our environment, we can also support local small businesses that specialize in vintage products. I’m always on the lookout for new vintage vendors and I’m excited to have recently visited a few around the Downtown Waco area! I invite all my thrifted, art and vintage good lovers out there to check them out as well!

Central Goods – 1701 Franklin Avenue

Located at 1701 Franklin Ave in the downtown Waco area, Central Goods is owned by The Sweet Station owner Kate Rogon and is a new vintage goods marketplace with many vendors. Rogon shared recently with me that the vendor spots are all filled and that there has been “lots of support from the community.” Vintage goods is in the family business as Rogon’s family has been in the vintage goods business for years and so it was a “natural progression to start their own shop.”

Vendors at Central Goods now offer vintage home goods, furniture, decor, books, and clothing at the shop space. I recently visited Central Goods and found this bright floral needlework gem (pictured above) for my home! I also found some vintage furniture and am excited that Central Goods is now offering space for vendors to offer their unique finds that you can’t find anywhere else.

Virgo and Co is owned by Taylor & Thomas, a young couple who ventured this past year – in their RV – on a journey around the US to thrift full-time for their online Virgo and Co shop. Since then, Taylor and Thomas have settled in Waco and now have their in person Virgo and Co shop within Central Goods.

You can also find Virgo and Co pop ups around town at community vendor events, including Eastside Market. My finds from them were a striped tea pot and a pair of vintage orange plush chairs.

You may remember this vintage and decor shop by the Emry’s from a few years ago on Austin Avenue. Linen and Cake curates vintage furniture, decor, handcrafted candles, and handcrafted art. They plan to begin offering linen, clothing, and other vintage goods in their new boutique. Linen and Cake will be opening off 11th and Washington Avenue near the Black Daisy Boutique Downtown and Wicked Hair Studio.

In fact, the boutique is currently moving into Bloom Waco’s former shop space off 1124 Washington Avenue. Bloom Waco has relocated downtown to a larger shop space. You can follow Linen & Cake’s journey on their website and Instagram for more details on their official opening date! They have many other surprises planned in the months to come. So stay tuned for what they have in store for the Greater Waco and downtown Waco community.
