Fall is finally upon us and with the cooler, refreshing air of Fall it brings so many activities for families to get out and enjoy. Having a special needs child myself, I know too well the struggle of some of the activities. Pushing a wheelchair through crowds or wheelchair unfriendly places makes the activity less enjoyable for your child and your family. So here are some activities for you to get out and enjoy this Fall season with the whole family and make some memories.
The Pumpkin Patch
Open Mon-Sat beginning Oct. 2-31st 10am-7pm

My family and I visited this pumpkin patch in Robinson last Fall and found it to be very wheelchair friendly. There is plenty of space between the rows of beautiful pumpkins and even a maze you can push a wheelchair through. My daughter laughed hysterically racing her brother through the maze in her wheelchair. They have awesome photo opportunities and even cardboard cutouts to enhance your photos. The admission is free, and the fun is priceless. We look forward to visiting this pumpkin patch this year.

No Limitations is a great organization for special needs children. They offer soccer, football, cheerleading and basketball. I love everything about No limitations so I am sure this event will not disappoint.
7th Annual Fall Festival for Children with Special Needs and Families

If you want to get out and enjoy the wonderful Fall weather, go out and visit this Fall Festival. Your special needs child and even your other children are guaranteed to have a blast. They can enjoy a hayride, carnival games, pumpkin panting, crafts and of coarse CANDY!
Special Ranch Rodeo
Oct. 14 2pm-4pm
Heart of Texas Coliseum
The Special Ranch Rodeo is a fun event offered by the Heart of Texas Rodeo Committee. This is an event for Special Needs Children between the ages of 3 and 16. Each participant receives a shirt and a medallion and will be accompanied by a cowboy or a volunteer. Wheelchairs are allowed on the arena. I will warn you the dirt makes it a little challenging but it is so worth the experience for your child. Your child can learn to rope, ride a horse, meet some cool cowboys and make some memories.
