Spring at the Silos – a local perspective!

No matter where in the country you live, once the sights and sounds of spring start to melt away the cold winds of winter, I think the collective response is one of hope.

Spring at the silos

As a local I may be biased, but I don’t think anyone quite celebrates the renewal of spring like small-town Texas! We may be small here in Waco, but we are mighty and the Spring at the Silos event ushers in such energy and community that it permeates the entire town. Locals and tourists alike can be seen filling the downtown streets with laughter and camaraderie, as music sets a cheerful tone in the background.

The vendor fair is one of my favorite events of Spring at the Silos. As a fellow small business owner, it brings me joy to support artisans who have courageously followed their dreams and poured themselves into something personal and meaningful. The vendor fair is the perfect opportunity to buy thoughtful, unique, and curated gifts for upcoming birthdays or baby/wedding showers. Vendors come from all over the country and set up exquisite booths to showcase their wares while you reap the benefits of perusing the items in person and saving those shipping costs.

Spring at the Silos is the perfect opportunity to grab a refreshing drink from Magnolia Press, or treat yourself to the scrumptious cupcakes from the bakery. Food trucks scattered throughout the grounds also offer a variety of delicious meal options. Take advantage of the 70º weather by playing the family-friendly lawn games or eating al fresco at the covered picnic tables. The ultimate dining experience is the Rooftop Picnic where you can savor lunch, trivia and a downtown view. Inside the Magnolia Market, you can leisurely enjoy stunning displays carefully crafted by the design team as you shop. Whether you come for the new seasonal menu, the music on the lawn, or the whole Magnolia experience, Spring at the Silos is an event worth attending. The benefit of being a local is the beauty of proximity and I’d suggest visiting on the Thursday since the event gets busier each day. So grab a group of girlfriends or your family and make some memories!
