Top 5 (NEW) Baby Items You Actually Need

0

It’s been over 3 years since my daughter Addie was born, and I’m pregnant with our 2nd baby that is due in April. A lot has changed in that amount of time as far as what’s hot in the baby market, and I feel like a new mom again in not knowing what’s “in” right now. My first daughter was in the NICU and PICU for the first 10 months of her life due to a chromosomal abnormality that caused many health issues, so I really didn’t get to experience motherhood in the ways that many other moms do. We didn’t have a Rock n’ Play, we baby wore only a few times at the hospital (and she hated it), and the only thing that seemed to satisfy her was a Mamaroo. Our second baby is looking so healthy and I’m really excited to try out all the new baby items around. I polled a bunch of mama friends to see what I’d been missing out on and so I bring to you, the top 5 (new) baby items you actually need. If you’re a new mom or this isn’t your first rodeo (but it’s been a while), you definitely won’t want to miss this!

DockATot. I have heard so many things about this majestic product. Their website hails that “DockATot has been designed to offer a snug and soothing environment for babies. We like to think it’s the next best thing to the womb. Babies can rest, play and lounge.” It’s also is lightweight and simple to travel with and “is the ideal spot to have tummy time with your little one.” My newer mom friends RAVE about the DockATot and tell me it’s the best product they’ve ever invested in for their babies because they can move it to wherever they need and their baby has a safe place to rest without worry. Click here to get your DockATot for $10 off. I personally am eyeing the La Vie en Rose if we have a girl and the Bananas for You if we have a boy. So cute!

Skip Hop’s Explore and More Baby’s View 3-Stage Activity CenterIt may look like a basic baby jumper, but the Skip Hop Explore and More engages a baby’s whole body with 360 degrees of play. It also grows with your baby —from a bouncer to a cruiser to an activity table. I love that it has 3 different ways baby can utilize it, and my newer mom friends have said that this has been awesome for occupying their kiddos whenever they’re trying to make dinner. Sounds like a winner winner chicken dinner to me!

Kiinde Kozii. The Kiinde Kozii is designed specifically to follow CDC and USDA guidelines to safely thaw and warm breastmilk using warm, flowing water. The Kiinde Kozii uses a low temperature, nutrient-safe water bath that is safe for ALL bottle and bag types. The water in the warmer is about as warm as warm tap water which allows you to warm your little one’s meal without exposing bags and bottles to dangerous steam, hot or boiling water, or the microwave. It is specifically designed to eliminate the risk of hot spots, nutrient damage, and dangerous chemicals that can be released from plastic bottles at high temperatures. I was an exclusive pumper for my daughter while she was in the hospital, and am really excited to breastfeed this time. I will absolutely be grabbing this for my new baby.

Fisher-Price’s On the Go Baby Dome. The unique domed design of this portable crib is great for small living spaces, and folds up easily for on-the-go use. It serves as an indoor/outdoor nap space that offers a shady retreat at the beach, at the park, on a hike, or even in your own living room. One of my mom friends even just recently took this to the beach! Another nice thing about this packable, On the Go Baby Dome is that it can give toddlers a sense of security and consistency when traveling. These are much easier to take around instead of the old pack and plays that we’ve known and used since the 90s! I’m always looking for smaller and more portable items since my daughter already has a lot of medical equipment, so this baby item is for sure going on the baby registry!

Britax 2017 B-ReadyI am so lucky that I recently got to attend an event with Britax about car seat safety and got a first hand look at this amazing stroller. It has 12 different seating options and both seats have a weight capacity of 55 lbs. There is terrific suspension, great fabric that is used, 5 point harness, UV 50+ protection, multiple recline positions, and an enormous undercarriage basket, and the Britax 2017 B-Ready is a great stroller for growing families. Plus the Click & Go System provides easy connection to any Britax infant car seat for the perfect travel system. Talk about awesome! We got one last month and it’s one of my favorite new baby items. It conveniently folds up and fits perfectly in the trunk of the car. Perfect for families with 2 littles of stroller age.

So there you have it,  the top 5 (new) baby items you actually need. What other products have you been using that you love? Have you tried these? Tell us how much you love them!
