Ultimate Summer Bucket List in Waco

Every mama needs a list of ideas for summer, am I right? Because of 100+ degree weather, I’m going to make this even more practical for you by dividing up into categories: At Home (indoor & outdoor), and Around Town (indoor & outdoor). If you have anything to add, just drop a comment below, we all could use the ideas!

Around Town – indoor

Home Depot

Home Depot has a free kids workshop on the 1st Saturday of the month (9 AM – 12 PM) and they hold workshops for adults, too.

Roller Skating

Want to enjoy air conditioning, but still get some of that energy out? Here’s your solution!


Over the hot temps? Grab some popcorn and enjoy a movie with the kids! It gives you all a break.


Bowling is always a family favorite. . .and it’s air conditioned. Enough said.

Hawaiian Falls

Hawaiian Falls is open for the season on Saturday, May 26!

Cameron Park

There is something for everyone here: Fish, canoe, or kayak on the river. Play disc golf, sand volleyball, or go hiking (check out the link above for hiking trail maps and conditions). Stroll through Texas native wildflowers on rock-lined paths at Miss Nellie’s Pretty Place. Most importantly, pack a picnic and bring the whole family!

Order a Cowboy coffee and let the kids play on the stage in the backyard seating area. The new second location in Woodway (Native Sons) is possibly even better, because they share a building with Slow Rise Slice House pizza!

Get out in nature

Paige is happily married to Andrew and became a mother to twin boys, Hayden and Ashton, in December 2016. Against all odds, a girl raised in New Mexico met a boy from Michigan while they were attending Baylor University in Texas. Andrew and Paige took a year off to start their family, and have now returned to reside in Hewitt and finish their bachelors' degrees at Baylor. When the twins are asleep, she enjoys curling up with a Common Grounds coffee and either a book or a Sudoku puzzle.
