Balcones is a grain to glass distillery conveniently located in downtown, Waco, the heart of Texas. We craft many unique whiskies and spirits, all of which have received worldwide recognition. Our flagship whisky, '1' Texas Single Malt, is our pride and joy, made using quality Scottish barley and aged in premium oak barrels. Balcones distills all of their beloved whiskies inside the historic Texas Fireproof Storage Company building in Waco, Texas. At its heart are four copper pot stills built by the best artisans in Scotland. My name is Monica Lopez-Hagen. I am the proud mother of an adorable little boy, Diego, who has been an inspiration in pursuing my love of photography. I am the wife to a wonderful and supportive husband. I have known him since I graduated from college and started my first job. We moved to North Carolina in 2015 and we loved it there! I am an industrial engineer and worked for a global company in different operation and supply chain roles for 10 years before having my son and becoming a stay at home mom. I’ve always liked photography and once Diego was born I wanted to document every second of his life with a DSLR that my husband had bought me years ago. I realized that I was finally having the time to pursue my passion. I truly enjoy helping families capture their special memories. I began building my portfolio with my baby when I lived in North Carolina and continued to grow that portfolio when I moved to Tennessee. I’ve met such wonderful people throughout my travels, and I am excited to meet even more now that I am in Waco, TX.  I love to capture spontaneous moments with children and families but also capture the quiet and unique moments of a sleeping newborn. My rule is to take as long as we need to capture the perfect moments, ones you will cherish for a lifetime!

My love for Photography began a long time ago. Growing up I only had photos to show me who my father was, since he had passed a month before I was born.
