Creative Places to Hang Out in Waco | Liven Up Your Dates!

It’s an exciting time to live in Waco. It feels like lots of positive energy and growth is taking over our popular city. That means an abundance of opportunities for enjoyable date days or nights, because who says you can only have a date at night?

For those of you that feel like your date options have become routine or boring, this post is for you! I wanted to come up with some creative dates you may not have considered before, or even inspire you to get your own creative juices flowing when it comes to planning your next date adventure in Waco.

Paddling and Provisions

Why not try out a date with the Waco Paddle Company?

Enjoy fun in the sun on the Brazos (when it’s not 100 degrees) on a paddle board, kayak or canoe. And yes, they even have night paddles! And since you’ll probably work up an appetite after your river excursion, there are plenty of options to choose from when it comes to finding food downtown.

Wine and Dine

Did you know there are wineries near Waco? Well you should, since the Waco Moms Blog recently had a post on some of them. We like to keep you in the know!

Located just off 35 and right outside Waco is Kissing Tree Vineyards.

Enjoy an artisan cheese tray while tasting their wide variety of wine offerings. They also have live music and gourmet Italian food on Friday and Saturday nights. If brunch is more your style, it’s available on Sundays from 11-3.

Waco Downtown Farmers Market Fare

While the farmers market may not seem like the most romantic place for a date, it certainly isn’t lacking when it comes to food choices. And the Waco Downtown Farmers Market has something for just about everyone.

Everything from pastries, breakfast tacos, fresh pressed juices, coffee, crepes, sandwiches and even ice cream! And why not support local businesses while filling your belly? That’s a win/win in my book.

Progressive Food Truck Dinner

I’ve always loved the idea of progressive dinners. It can be a unique and memorable experience. You could make it really special and have a progressive dinner at our local food trucks! We have a lot of variety when it comes to food trucks right here in Waco.

Some trucks are stationary and others are on the move, so be sure to plan ahead. And for dessert, I must mention one of our favorite dessert food trucks, Pokey-O’s

Of course, you aren’t limited to the list of places mentioned here. There are so many wonderful establishments in our hometown just waiting for you to uncover and experience. Waco truly is a wonderland!

Camille Wilder moved to Waco from Fort Worth in 2017, and figures after living in Texas for over 20 years and marrying a native, she can officially be called a Texan. She's been married to her dream guy, Chris, for over 18 years and is blessed with three amazing kids: a bonus son, Addison, bonus daughter, Alexandra and her sweet son, Harrison. In her spare time, Camille enjoys yoga, hanging out with her family, trying out new recipes, baking goodies and sharing them with friends and eating lots of chips and queso, which she believes could totally be considered a food group.
