The month of LOVE is here and you know what that means … date night! Waco may not top the list of the most romantic places in Texas, but it sure has its charm. Whether Valentine’s Day, or another special time of year, here are 6  recommendations for a romantic Waco date night.

  1. Opal’s Oysters | This hot spot in town has received rave reviews since its opening. Oysters may not be your #1 meal choice, but you truly can’t go wrong with any menu item. From the jumbo shrimp cocktail and baby wedge, to the clams linguine and cheesy truffle polenta, you will be thrilled with whatever you pick. With their cozy indoor or outdoor atmosphere, Opal’s is sure to be the place that makes you feel like you’ve escaped our city!
  2. Red Herring | Located at Hotel Herringbone, this swanky restaurant and bar is a cozy spot for a date night! The eclectic, unique vibe they provide coupled with the occasional live entertainment is more than worth a visit. Enjoy a coastal Mediterranean inspired menu and artisan craft cocktails while you take in the converted brick warehouse with 50’s and 60’s décor. And trust me when I say, “Try the potatoes!”
  3. Bertie’s on the Rooftop | Hotel 1928 is certainly sure to impress, and if you want a view for dinner, this is the place to go! The restaurant downstairs, The Brasserie, has a cool vibe and great menu, but who doesn’t love dinner outdoors? Waco isn’t known for its outdoor eating weather, but Bertie’s is the place to be to soak in those heart of Texas sunsets and add some extra romance!
  4. 135 Prime | If you have been in Waco for any amount of time, you have probably heard of this date night staple. 135 Prime is known for their impeccable service, finest cuts of meat, season’s best offerings, and commitment to quality. This spot is an experience from start to finish and is certainly going to make an impression on anyone who walks through the doors!
  5. The Butcher’s Cellar | Don’t want to go downtown? Hop on over to The Butcher’s Cellar at the Outlook in Woodway for a sweet date night spot. Be ready for décor like you’ve never seen before! You won’t go wrong in choosing this hidden gem.
  6. Di Campli’s Italian Ristorante | Right off Hwy 84 is some of the best Italian food in Central Texas! The owner is the friendliest man you’ll ever meet and their staff always goes above and beyond. My husband swears by the bruschetta appetizer and I can’t ever get away from the Salmon, truthfully. If you’re seeking an authentic Italian experience, look no further than Di Campli’s!
