Do you have a high school student? Have you ever heard of “rep teams”? Being a part of one can be a fun and unique experience for a lot of students. Being a member of a rep team is where a student represents (or “reps”) a local company in exchange for something else.

Rep teams generally offer several expected and unexpected bonuses. Interested in learning more? Here are some of the benefits:

1. Friends! Local businesses are trying to connect with students from around the entire community, not just one city. This means students from different areas get to meet and often become friends with somebody from a different school. The opportunity to make connections and lifelong friendships is a giant plus of rep teams.

2. Company Perks! The company your student is “repping” will often offer a special discount, photos, get-togethers, swag and more to their reps. As a photographer, my Kasper Creations reps receive social media images, get-togethers, discounts on sessions, etc. Several clothing companies also have rep teams. For example, I know the Golden Green Boutique rep program offers photos, get-togethers, discounts, etc.

3. Special Experiences! Students get a chance to do something special and unique. It could be a themed photo session or modeling, parties throughout the year or service projects. Rep teams, and programs like them, are often designed to create a fun experience for the students.

Did I peak your interest? Are you wondering how you find rep teams? Start by asking around and looking at local company social media pages. There are several options in the greater Waco area that will give your student a unique experience they won’t get anywhere else.
