One of our favorite activities as fall approaches is going to the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo every year. As a kid growing up, I remember my mom taking us to see the exhibits, eat the fair food, and play our favorite game. My older sister and I used to participate in the fine arts events, entering everything from hand-drawn portraits to homemade brownies (which earned hear a tri-color ribbon, by the way!). The rodeo always gave us something to look forward too, as we saw some of the best cowgirls, cowboys, and livestock in the nation right here in our little home town.
As an adult, I still love the fair. It’s grown quite a bit since we were kids, and has even more to offer. My sister’s birthday is always during fair time, so we go every year together. Now that my husband and I have a daughter, we have enjoyed taking her the last few years, and seeing the fair and rodeo events through her eyes. The Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo has so much to offer kids and adults alike! Waco Moms loves the fair and all of the excitement it provides, including our sold out Moms Night Out event there this year!
- Fair general admission tickets are $15 for ages 9+
- 8 and under are free
- $35 all-you-can-ride armbands
Standing attractions include the the Extraco Banks Kidzone, H-E-Buddy Barnyard, One HOT Marketplace, Wine and Beer Garden, and General Exhibits with Creative Arts and Education.
