With several options for buying local, seasonal produce, handmade and unique goods from small businesses, there is no excuse not to check out all that Waco offers when it comes to visiting a local farmers market! We are lucky to have multiple options in different parts of the city so be sure to carve out some time to stop by these spots!
Waco Downtown Farmers Market
The Waco Downtown Farmers Market started in 2011 and their mission is to bring locally grown and produced goods to downtown Waco, to support local farmers and artisans, and enrich the culture of our community. Here you’ll find everything from locally grown seasonal produce, artisan baked goods, cheese, meats, and so much more!
It started as a small market on the Brazos with 14 vendors and operating year-round for six years. In 2017, the Market moved to its current location at the Courthouse parking lot and has grown to over 40 vendors, with the addition of weekly musicians and seasonal handmade markets. The Market has also increased nutrition incentive programs by adding Double Up Food Bucks and the WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program. These programs enlarge the purchasing power of customers using food benefits while benefiting local agricultural producers.
Open every Saturday, excluding holidays and severe weather.
Bridge Street Farmers Market
Launched in the Spring of 2023, the Bridge Street Farmers Market offers another opportunity to shop during the week. Bridge Street operates on Wednesday evenings at the Bridge Street Plaza (200 E. Bridge St. in East Waco), from 5 to 8 p.m. This Market features local vendors, live music, and rotating wellness activities like yoga and hip-hop step aerobics. The Market is closed for the summer but will start back up again in September – when hopefully cooler weather arrives!
Woodway Farmers Market
The City of Woodway has opened a monthly market on the grounds of the Carleen Bright Arboretum, featuring a diverse lineup of vendors, food trucks, and live music! The next market will take place on Sunday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Visit discoverwoodway.com for more information on the market as well as other fun events in the Woodway area.
