When you find something that works you tend to share it. Well, y’all- it’s taken me nearly 40 years but I can finally say I enjoy working out. I know the importance of fitness and have spent the better part of adulthood attempting home workouts, dance classes, workout apps, different gyms -and quit them all. If there was an award for quitting, I’d hold the highest honors. Then last fall my best friend talked me into trying Refine31. I went and I…gasp…had FUN!
I realized I workout best when I have a plan AND accountability. I need someone to tell me what to do and how to do it. For the 1st time not only do I look forward to working out, but I’m consistently working out 3-5 times a week. What!?! Who even am I? I feel stronger and my clothes fit better!
Here’s why Refine31 works for me:
Size. Refine31 is a small gym so you aren’t one in a sea of 30, you’re one in a room of 8-10. Your instructor not only knows you by name, they are able to give you specific instructions on movements or modifications so you are getting YOUR best workout. It feels like personal training but more affordable.
Variety. I love that I’m able to take the kids to school and head straight to a class. Working mama? No problem- Refine offers early classes and 5:30pm classes and there are few lunch hour classes during the week too! Refine offers cycle, barre, bounce, box & barre, tabata and others so there’s something for everyone.
Fun. This self-conscious almost 40 year old has so much fun I forget I look like a baby giraffe while doing most of the moves. Bonus is that most classes are just 45 min so you get in a good sweat but aren’t dying at the end ha ha! The instructors are encouraging and fun and make the time fly by.
Community. When you walk into Refine31 you aren’t just a number, the staff knows you and wants to know how you’re doing and all of the members who workout there are just lovely! Every class ends with a verse or word of encouragement.
In the current pandemmy I gotta throw out there that it’s super flexible! Several classes are offered virtually via zoom (which came in handy when I recently had to quarantine).
So consider this your invite and come try a class! Tell them Waco Moms sent you and you can try your first class free!
