A Few of My Favorite Things for Busy Moms

I can’t do it all.  And I don’t want to do it all.
I’m not good at it all.  And I learned long ago that other people are much better at the things that I am not good at, so it’s better for them to do it.

As a busy mom with a full schedule and limited energy, I made the executive decision to delegate the things that I can. Cleaning, lawn stuff, grocery shopping, etc. – all things someone else does better than me!  In addition to giving others an opportunity to use their talents, I also have found some services to support the function of our home.  Below are a few of my favorite things:
  • HelloFresh – meal planning & delivery service:  You sign up for the number of meals and frequency for delivery, and then you choose which meals you want from a menu each week.  They send you the main ingredients, which are all organic (you just need to have the basic kitchen staples like butter, olive oil, etc.), and the 6-step recipe; all you have to do is follow instructions.  This changed our evenings!!
  • Amazon Subscription Services – auto-delivered specified items each month:  Items we use every month, such as vitamins or breakfast bars, we have on a subscription service.  Each month, a big box of stuff we need is delivered just before we run out of it.  It’s like Christmas!
  • HEB Curbside or Walmart Pickup – order groceries online and pick up at a specified time: Written grocery list?  No need!  Just go online and add items as needed.  Then, when you’re ready to place your order, choose a time to pick up.  The store will gather your items and have it ready for you to pick up at the assigned time.  Follow the signs in the parking lot to the Pickup spaces and let them know you’re there. They bring it to your car!!!!
  • Roomba Vacuum – a self-propelled vacuum robot: It’s essential.  If you have kids, you need this.  If you have pets, you need this.  If you live in your house at all, you need this.  You set a schedule and it automatically vacuums your house, and then returns to its station to charge.  You just empty the canister every day or two.  It works on carpet, tile, wood – it does it all!
