Hello fellow mamas! I’m Tori (short for Victoria) Freeman.
I’m a Colorado native, born and raised in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs. Growing up, my mom always said my siblings and I had no idea how spoiled we were to live where we did. Turns out, mom’s always right.
The first time I toured Baylor, I decided I hated Texas–why on earth was I sweating through my t-shirt in OCTOBER? Nonetheless, between Dr Pepper Hour every Tuesday and a degree that allowed me generous flexibility to study what I wanted, I ended up committing four years of my life to Waco. But ONLY four years.
And then love happened. I met my now husband Braden while we both worked as servers at the Hippodrome and next thing you know, I’ve got a sparkly ring on my finger, a new last name, and a Texas driver’s license.
In the seven years I’ve lived in Waco, I’ve come to fall in love with springtime bluebonnets, y’all’s crazy passion for football, the word “y’all,” and the small town community feel of our city (although I still think it’s criminal that I’m regularly able to wear shorts and tank tops to November & December football games).
Braden and I married in January 2017. Then last November, our hearts grew fuller than we thought possible when our little boy Noah James made his entrance into the world. He’s changed everything.
I’ve spent so much of my life trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up, but once I became a mom, I knew that was it. Navigating motherhood these first few months has been nothing short of overwhelming + hectic but also the most fulfilling, humbling and awe-inspiring role I’ve ever had the honor of filling.
For now, I’m trying my best to learn how to balance life as a new mom, a freelance writer and paralegal, and a coach’s wife. It’s made me appreciate God’s grace in an entirely new light.
I’m so honored to join this community of mamas and celebrate our city and the ups & downs of motherhood.
