One of the things that I looked forward to when I moved to Texas was the change of seasons – it’s a beautiful thing to see. I love the springtime with the flowers blooming and the grass getting green, and I really love the fall watching the trees explode with vibrant oranges and yellows.
But I would have to say that my favorite season, which is about to end, is football season! What Texan doesn’t love football season? We’re pretty lucky here in Waco – High school football was amazing this year with China Spring becoming State Champions and watching Baylor play in the Armed Forces Bowl was a treat. Football at its best! Now the NFL season is coming to a close with the Philadelphia Eagles meeting the Kansas City Chiefs to battle it out with one last game of the season in Arizona.
Fun Fact: Super Bowl weekend ranks as one of the busiest weekends at the grocery store. It sits in 4th place behind Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the 4th of July, but it is the biggest snacking sales weekend of the year – so we need to prepare!
If you and your family are going to a Super Bowl party and you don’t know what to bring, I’ve got you covered with two of my favorite snacks that are a hit year after year. The first one is Buffalo Chicken Dip, served warm. You can make it with canned chicken or a rotisserie chicken, serve it with tortilla chips, pita chips, or even veggies. The second one is called The Ultimate Dip. This can be served with any chip and veggies, too. These dips are both so versatile and so delicious – but if they don’t catch your eye, check out some other options here.
I hope you enjoy the end of MY favorite season with these two simple recipes that are always touchdown worthy!
