As a woman, and mom, the amount of “must have” lists I come across is never-ending. Must haves for back to school, postpartum, a trip to the beach, etc. Don’t get me wrong, these carefully compiled tips and tricks are what have gotten me through many last minute packing sessions, but a favorite author of mine has become famous for asking the question, “What is saving your life right now?”.
She asks this of herself to stay on track with the things that matter most to her values and needs. I adopted that method years ago. It has helped with streamlining my time management and spending habits. I naturally tend to be one who leans towards the latest and greatest to be the fix, so I’ve made myself slow down and evaluate what is really helping “saving my life”, so to speak. Here are 5 must haves I can’t live without; hopefully, they won’t just be another list you read through – I pray they make your life easier, too!
These totes on wheels have saved my back, shoulders, and sanity this year! Why I didn’t think to create them myself is a real shame. They are perfect for large, heavy. or awkward loads! The wheels are strong, sturdy, and haven’t said no to any load I’ve put on them yet! I’ve moved house house items, boutique displays, and even a body (just to test it), they are a superhero! I love the large and medium options! They come with the option to purchase lids, but I haven’t found a use for those yet.
What Can I Bring?: Southern Food for Any Occasion Life Serves Up
I love cookbooks and this one has been so fun to explore! I enjoy cooking, although I don’t enjoy the daily cooking as much as cooking for events or occasions. This cookbook has a ton of easy and incredible recipes to add to your repertoire for dishes to share that will wow!
I have a great relationship with money. I like to spend it. Thank goodness I met Dave Ramsey years ago and learned how to stay away from debit. For that reason, I almost didn’t pick up this book. I’m thankful I did, nothing has helped me understand money like her! It is so important to understand money, saving, and the market. If this topic is overwhelming or intimidating to you, pick up a copy! (There is some language in it, she is very blunt, so if that is offensive or triggering, maybe skip this one.)
DIBBATU Fire Blanket Emergency
I have an unhealthy fear of fire. I obsess over it daily. Having these fire blankets around the house have helped dim the fear. They are great for containing a small fire. All the other fears (faulty wiring in the walls) are kept at bay by prayers alone.
Vitamin D
Most of us have a Vitamin D deficiency. When I broke my ankle this spring, that is the first thing my orthopedic doctor tested. After covid, most of his patients have been deficient in Vitamin D, which has heal to slow healing. When my results came back, I was named the Vitamin D Queen because of the supplement I religiously take. I’ve proven to not take the liquid form, so I opt for the K-D Combo capsules from Hormones by Design. They work wonders! You can pop in anytime to purchase them, even if you aren’t a patient!
BedsPick 3 Inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper King Size Soft Gel Infused Foam Mattress Pad
This mattress pad covers every bed in our home. It started with a bad mattress purchase on one of the kids beds, which then quickly became the prized bed to sleep on. So, I slowly started a collection for every bed! It’s what I imagine sleeping in heaven must feel like.
My hands are a constant struggle to keep moisturized. My manicurist has researched creams for me to use on them for years and finally recommended this foot cream, on my hands. It is the only “hand” cream I use now. I have one everywhere I need it. Sometimes when I pull it out of my purse and start using it, I get some looks because the tube looks like a diaper rash ointment, but once I share it with a friend, they are quickly hooked as well! It is from Germany, and is fragrance free.
