Father’s Day is fast-approaching. If the dads in your life anything are anything like the dads in mine, they’re notoriously difficult to shop for.  Which is why I’ve spent some time brainstorming and chatting with some local dads the past few weeks. With their help I compiled this Father’s Day gift guide, full of local spots to shop for the dad in your life!

Monument Barber Co.
Centrally located on Washington Avenue, Monument Barber Co. is a one-of-a-kind experience in Waco. From the Buffalo statue in the front yard to the stylish aesthetic interior, Monument sets the vibe in the best way. Treat the dad in your life to a “Monumental” experience — premium haircut and beard service with hot towel facial — an hour long service for $65.

Republic Gun Club
Located in Woodway, Republic Gun Club is one of the only indoor gun ranges in Central Texas. Republic offers a wide-range of classes for dad to enjoy, and range reservations are available. Memberships, starting at $55 a month, are also a great option for the dads that plan to make this a weekly outing!

Balcones
Opened in 2008, Balcones distills world-class whiskey and more. The distillery offer tours, tastings, and classes! Enjoy a whiskey neat or a cocktail at the distillery bar or grab an award-winning bottle and some great merch in the store on site. This is an experience that dad is sure to love!

The Bear Mountain
This one of a kind shop in Waco offers a wide-selection of some of the best outdoor gear for the adventurous dad; they have everything from mountain bikes to fly fishing reels and rods! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help you find the perfect gift. If your dad is a frequent shopper at Bear Mountain, the staff can check his profile and make sure you don’t gift something he already has.

Milk Bottle Cookies
Does anyone love cookies more than dad? I didn’t think so! Each year, the Milk Bottle team bakes up something special for Father’s Day. Make sure to check their website for this years Father’s Day offering, and bring dad in to to try a sampler pack, coffee, and ice cream!

J.Hilburn
Offering everything from custom-made casual designs to perfectly tailored suits, J.Hilburn is a wonderful addition to our Waco shopping scene. Having opened this past February, the staff at J.Hilburn are ready to give the dads in your life the royal treatment with personal styling appointments that provide a one-of-a-kind experience.

Homestead Heritage
Located just outside of Waco, this agrarian and craft-based community offers classes on blacksmithing, woodworking, and more. Led by a skilled craftsman, your dad can spend a few days learning century-old skills, and return home with something he’s made with his own two hands!

Shopping for a Father’s Day gift stumps me every year! But with this list in hand, I have a feeling I am going to have easy success finding the perfect item for every dad in my life. We hope these suggestions lead you in the right direction, too.
