McDonald’s Throwback Happy Meal Toys are Back


McDonald’s is bringing back some of the favorite toys from the past 40 years. There will be up to 15 throwback toys available at participating markets globally starting TOMORROW, Nov. 7th!

Exclusively in the U.S., there will be two additional toys from Disney for a total of 17 throwback toys at participating restaurants from Nov. 7 through Nov. 11, while supplies last. 


McDonald’s is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first-ever Happy Meal by launching the Surprise Happy Meal from Nov. 7 through Nov. 11 at participating locations, while supplies last. Each toy inside this limited-edition Surprise Happy Meal will be a total throwback surprise from the past four decades—reminding everyone of that universal feeling of excitement and anticipation right before they opened their first box and discovered the toy inside.

The Surprise Happy Meal will contain throwback toys such as:

  • Mail Carrier McNugget (1988)
  • Fireman McNugget (1988)
  • Hamburger Changeable (1989)
  • Grimace (1990)
  • Dino Happy Meal Box Changeable (1991)
  • McDonald’s Hot Wheel Thunderbird (1993)

  • Power Rangers© (1995)
  • Space Jam Bugs Bunny (1996)

I don’t know about you, but the happy meal is nostalgic to me. It was part of my childhood. It brought excitement to every play date when I was younger and it will be fun to see all of the retro toys released this week. Who else loved Space Jam and Power Rangers?
