Moms,Do you ever?

It’s the truth when they say you’ll never be able to imagine life before children, once you have them. Quite often I am in my own world of mixed emotions when it comes to my little girl. I know other moms are in awe of their children too and I want to take a moment to share my “Do you’s” with you.

These are the thoughts that go through my mind as a mom when I stare at my little girl in complete amazement:

Do you ever think, “I can’t believe I made THAT.” ?

Do you ever stare at every single little beautiful detail in their face?

Do you ever wonder what is truly going through their little minds?

Do you ever kiss their face a thousand times and more?

Do you ever become so graciously overwhelmed by their little self that you shed tears?

Do you ever thank God a million times over for their precious gift of life?

Do you ever stop in the midst of the chaos and think, “Life is GOOD!” ?

Do you ever look at their defiant little self and think their cranky face is absolutely THE cutest?

Do you ever laugh hysterically at them for all the weird, quirky things they do?

Do you ever watch them sleep for an extra few minutes?

Do you ever sneak into their room at night to capture them in all of their beauty so you can remember that exact moment?

Do you ever get so mad at them for their misbehavior, yet turn around quickly to smile and laugh with them?

Do you ever give into w.h.a.t.e.v.e.r they want because it brings you JOY to see them smile?

Do you ever hold them a little bit longer, even if they don’t want you to?

Do you ever tell them “I love you” even at the most random moments?

Do you ever think, “You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me”?

Do you ever think, “Gosh, you’re so stinkin’ smart!” ?

Do you ever watch them with your spouse and think, “He’s the perfect dad.” ?

And lastly, do you ever stop and think, “I wonder what they think of me?”. This motivates me to be the greatest, most selfless mom I can be. I will never be perfect. Not today or in a year, but because of how much happiness she brings, I hope she thinks I’m the best mom she could ever have! Here’s to challenging you as a mom to S-O-A-K up the simplest, yet most profound moments of your little one’s life.
