I’m not going to lie: I’m in the “don’t put your Christmas tree up until after Thanksgiving” boat, for sure.

But starting this week in Waco, Christmas events begin, so buckle up and get in the holiday mood, mama!

::CHRISTMAS IN WACO::

  • Blow your own Christmas ornament
      • Starting November 15th Fridays and Saturdays 8 AM – 6 PM at Stanton Studios (318 Rogers Hill Rd)
      • Schedule an appointment to blow your own glass ornament; choose your own colors and make an ornament in 10 minutes. Each ornament is $40. To schedule, email [email protected] or call (254) 829-1151.
    • Nature in Lights
      • Starting November 15th Nightly 5:30 – 11 PM at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area
      • Drive through 5 1/2 miles of Christmas light displays & set your radio to 91.9 FM! There is also a playground, a train ride with exclusive trail of lights ($5), and Santa’s Village with shopping and hot cocoa.

      • November 21st – 23rd 7:30 PM at MCC Music & Theatre Arts Building
      • Fun, festive family evening with music, dance, and a classic story!
    • Santa at the Silos
      • November 23rd – December 21st (weekends only) 10 AM – 3 PM at Magnolia Market

    • Central’s Market
      • November 23rd 9 AM – 2 PM at Central Christian Church
      • Sponsored by the Disciples Women, an incredible event filled with the Spirit of Christmas! Grab some lunch served on site, stroll through the main hallway and Teel Center to shop with our amazing vendors, then top off your day with a trip to the Greatest Bake Sale Ever!

      • November 26th 5 – 8 PM at the Baylor Club
      • This event is before Black Friday & Cyber Monday so you can #ShopLocal! Sip wine and enjoy hors d’oeuvres while shopping from 60+ vendors.
    • Christmas at the Mayborn
      • December 5th 4:30 – 7:30 PM at Mayborn Museum Complex
      • Special Christmas themed events and activities are included in the price of admission (free to museum members and Baylor students), including a visit from Santa and a special model train display! Stop by the Design Den to make yarn holiday creations.
    • Christmas on Fifth Street
      • December 5th 5 – 10 PM on Baylor’s campus
      • Lots of free family friendly activities including carriage rides, petting zoo, live nativity, train rides, pictures with Santa, Christmas tree lighting, and more!

      • December 5th 7:30 PM, December 6th 7:30 PM, December 8th 3 PM at Jones Concert Hall
      • The combined choirs of Baylor University and the Baylor Symphony Orchestra present their annual Christmas concert. Buy tickets here.
    • The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
      • December 5th – 8th 2 PM (Sat & Sun) 7 PM (Thurs, Fri, Sat) at Waco Civic Theatre
      • In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids – probably the most inventively awful kids in history.

      • December 6th – 8th at Heritage Square in Downtown Waco
      • Christmastime activities including fireworks, a Ferris wheel, carriage rides, a “snow hill”, and a petting zoo. Tree Lighting Ceremony & fireworks at 7 PM on December 6th, Snow Tube Hill open on December 7th. Mistletoe Market includes food, drink, artists, merchants, and kids art activities. The Santa House is a hand-crafted wooden house where you can get pictures with Santa: December 6th 5 – 10 PM, December 7th 10 AM – 10 PM, and December 8th 12 – 6 PM.

      • Kick off the annual Waco holiday parade with the 1 mile family walk or the timed 10K and 5K. Register here.
    • City of Hewitt Tree Lighting
      • December 7th 5 – 7 PM at Hewitt Park
      • Live music, cocoa & cookies, crafts, pictures with Santa and more. Free and open to the public!
    • Chamber Singers Christmas Concert
      • December 9th & 10th 7:30 PM at Armstrong Browning Library
      • This chamber choir of mixed voices is led by Brian A. Schmidt, Baylor University’s Associate Professor of Choral Music.
    • Waco Jazz Orchestra Concert
      • December 9th 7:30 PM at Ball Performing Arts Center (MCC)
      • Waco Jazz orchestra performs its Swinging Holiday Concert at McLennan Community College.

      • Come see the most wonderful show at the most wonderful time of the year! Join us for a Christmas variety show based on the Judy Garland Christmas Special, featuring her family and friends.

      • December 13th – 15th at Historic Waco
      • Explore some of the Historic Waco’s house museums during the annual Christmas on the Brazos. Candlelight tour 6 – 9 PM on the 13th, Breakfast with Santa 9 – 11 AM on the 14th, and houses open for tours 11 – 4 PM on the 14th and 15th.

    • Christmas Lights in the Village
      • December 13th 6 – 8 PM at Mayborn Museum
      • More than 30,000 lights will illuminate the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village and sure to create unforgettable memories. Slow down your holiday season with a relaxing stroll through the village that will include a hands-on petting zoo, photo-op visits with Santa, food for purchase, and special pop-up activities. Tickets will be available closer to event!
    • Youth Chorus of Central Texas Christmas Concert
      • December 13th 7 PM at Austin Ave United Methodist Church
      • Join the vibrant voices of the Youth Chorus of Central Texas for a celebration of Christmas music!
    • Annual Christmas Radio Show: A Christmas Carol
      • December 13th and 14th 6:30 PM at 7524 Bosque Blvd
      • This popular Brazos Theatre holiday tradition continues with our 1940’s style “radio broadcast” of “A Christmas Carol”. It’s great for the whole family. Everyone is invited to a special pre-show holiday buffet with heavy hors d’oeuvres, mulled wine, and more with the cast and crew. Tickets now available here.       • December 14th 12 – 2 PM at Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum (100 Texas Ranger Trl)
      • Compassion Ministries helps those who are homeless or on the verge of homelessness into permanent housing and employment; they need gift items and donations for children, teens, and adults this holiday season. For each rock purchased to paint or item donated, you will receive one free admission to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum. You can get a list of donation suggestions here.
    • McGregor Christmas Parade & Cookies with Santa
      • December 14th 6 – 9 PM on McGregor Main Street
      • Come enjoy small town Christmas. Our lighted Christmas Parade and cookies with Santa are a great way to spend an evening with family and friends day! Bring a chair and stay awhile in our decorated and lit historic Main Street! Shops and restaurants open before and after the parade.
    • Christmas Pop-Up Saturday
      • December 14th 10 – 1 PM at Dr Pepper Museum
      • Swing by the Museum to create a Christmas ornament using a recycled soda bottle! While you’re here, snag a sample of our homemade festive sodas to help get you in the holiday spirit! This event is free with general admission and will be held on the second floor of the AMBC Building.

    • The Nutcracker
      • December 15th 2 PM at Waco Hall
      • With beautiful sets, stunning costumes, and the Waco Symphony Orchestra playing Tchaikovsky’s delightful music! A perfect way for family and friends to celebrate the holiday season together.
    • “Santa’s Magic Bells” Puppet Show
      • December 17th – 19th 11 – 12 PM & 1 – 2 PM at Mayborn Museum Complex
      • Enjoy a special holiday puppet show with Santa and his hyper elf, Ringle Dingle, presented by Ware House Puppets. Delight in Ringle’s escapades as he is chased by a cast of characters and searches for Santa’s missing magic bells.
    • Christmas Make & Take
      • December 20th 4 – 5 PM at East Waco Library
      • Pop in for a chance to make lots of quick crafts, just in time for Christmas. Make an edible Christmas tree, Santas and snowflakes. We’ll have everything you need to make something awesome. Ho-ho-hope to see you there!
    • William Lee Martin – The Nutcracker: A Christmas Comedy Spectacular
      • December 20th 7 – 9 PM at Waco Hippodrome
      • It’s adult humor without the adult language. The show is high energy and guaranteed to get you in the Christmas spirit! Find tickets here.
    • Christmas Movies Marathon
      • December 21st 1:30 – 4:30 PM at Central Waco Library
      • The whole family can join us for seasonal movies and crafts. We’ll have a great time!
